Obesity reduces passenger vehicle fuel economy.
Due to the increasing costs of energy, dependence on foreign oil and environmental concerns the Department of Defense is looking for cleaner, more efficient ways to fuel the military’s aircraft.
DoD oil consumption in 2009 jumped to 375,000 barrels per day. In the year 2000 it was less than 280,000 barrels per day. Note that there are only 33 countries in the world that consume more oil than the DoD.
