Dino Simonits is the senior business development manager with LIOS Technology GmbH – Linear Optical Sensors.

He has significantly contributed to the success of Distributed Temperature Monitoring systems in the electrical power industry and introduced with LIOS the first fully integrated Real Time Thermal Rating/ Dynamic Cable Rating (RTTR/ DCR) solution for ampacity predictions of transmission and distribution power cable and overhead line installations.

In cooperation with partners, Dino has created a platform for a complete scope of condition assessment, control, monitoring and ampacity predictions of the electric transmission and distribution grid as an essential success factor of Smart Grid implementations. This complemented combination of thermal assessment and Partial Discharge (PD) solutions provides grid owners an even better control and monitoring possibility of their grids.

Dino completed his studies as Master of Electrical Engineering (MEng) at the University of Wuppertal, Germany, at the institute for optical information technology in 1995.
